IT SERVICES giant Infosys has fired 204 trainees at its Mysuru campus after they failed to clear internal assessment tests, according to media reports.
The company emailed the affected trainees on Friday (18) to inform them that they had failed to clear the ‘Generic foundation training’ programme.
An affected trainee told the New Indian Express that on Friday (18), they were called in batches for a meeting, during which they were handed over their termination letters.
Their last day of work was Friday (18), and they were told to vacate their hostel rooms at the Mysuru campus by April 21.
The next batch of trainees is expecting their results next week, and some more may get fired.
This comes after the firing of nearly 400 trainees in February.
All these trainees were recruited by the company in October last year.
They had waited for at least two years to join the company.
While announcing its Q4 results on Thursday (17), the Bengaluru-based company had stated that its employee count at the end of FY25 was 323,578 and plans to hire 20,000 freshers.
