INDIA’S ELITE National Investigation Agency (NIA) has called upon the public for assistance in identifying individuals involved in violent protests and the attempted vandalism of the Indian High Commission in London earlier this year, official sources said.
On Monday (12), the agency shared links to five videos of the incident that took place in the UK capital on March 19 via their Twitter handle. It urged people to provide any information they may have regarding those seen in the footage to the NIA and promised that the informants’ identity will be kept secret.

The NIA has taken over the investigation from the Special Cell of the Delhi Police, which had initially registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act. The case involves unlawful activities conducted by certain individuals holding Indian nationality abroad.
During the protests , pro-Khalistani demonstrators attempted to vandalise the Indian mission and forcefully brought down the national flag while conducting demonstrations outside the diplomatic complex. These protests occurred the day after the Punjab Police launched a crackdown against radical preacher Amritpal Singh in the northern Indian state.
