INDIAN prime minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (21) expressed his government’s ambition to transform the current decade into a “techade” and highlighted the ‘Start-Up India’ mission aimed at promoting young entrepreneurs.

Speaking at the ‘Skilling for Future’ event held at the National Science Foundation in Washington DC, the Indian leader spoke about the establishment of 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs in schools across India, providing children with resources for innovation. He also underscored the objective of making the upcoming decade a technology-driven era.

During the event, Modi stressed the importance of talent development and collaboration between India and the US. Meanwhile, US first lady Jill Biden, who was present on the occasion, stressed on the significance of education in strengthening the bond between India and the US.

Speaking at the National Science Foundation alongside Modi, she highlighted the mutual learning and growth experienced by students from both countries, envisioning a future where they work together to build a safer, healthier, and more prosperous world. Biden stressed the need to invest in the youth, as they represent the future and hold the key to strong economies.
