INDIAN learning solutions provider Aptech has announced in an exchange filing that its managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) Anil Pant passed away on Tuesday (15).

In a statement, the Mumbai-headquartered company said, “With regards to aforesaid reference, the Company regrets to inform about the sad demise of Dr. Anil Pant, Managing Director & CEO of the Company on Tuesday, August 15, 2023”, NDTV reported.

While Aptech started its information-technology (IT) training business in 1986 and became the first IT training organisation in Asia to receive the ISO 9001 quality certification seven years later, Pant joined the company in 2016 and led to achieve greater recognition.

Before joining Aptech, Pant was associated with Sify Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services, an Indian tech giant. He had nearly two decades of experience in the fields of IT and communication.

“Dr. Pant’s contribution and energy will be missed by the Company. All the Directors and employees of the Company convey their deepest condolences to his family,” Aptech said in the exchange filing.

Pant studied in Bangalore University and BMS College of Engineering in Bengaluru before earning a doctorate of philosophy in information technology from the Lincoln University College in Malaysia.

The CEO passed away a few months after taking an indefinite leave owing to health problems. According to an India Today report, Pant had gone on an indefinite leave on June 19 due to deteriorating health conditions, which was indicated by the company in an exchange filing at the time.

An emergency meeting was called the same day Pant went on leave and in it, an interim committee featuring selected members of the board and senior management was set up to ensure operations were held smoothly.
