AROUND 50 Indian companies are participating in a three-day business exhibition which is currently underway in the northern neighbouring country of Nepal to promote Brand India and better bilateral trade and investment by raising awareness about trade opportunities on both sides.

The exhibition, which kicked off on Tuesday (21) and will continue till Thursday (23), is being held at Bhrikutimandap Exhibition Hall in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

Namgya Khampa, Chargés d’Affaires, Indian Embassy, inaugurated the exhibition and interacted with representatives of Indian and Nepali companies participating in the event.

“She also encouraged the organisers to explore B2B partnerships with Nepali entrepreneurs in order to strengthen commercial ties between the two countries,” according to a press release issued by the Indian embassy on Wednesday (22).

The event is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) with the support of the Indian commerce and industry ministry.

“The exhibition aims to promote Brand India and enhance bilateral trade and investment by creating awareness on business opportunities available on both sides,” it said.

The exhibition also aims to facilitate joint ventures, technology transfer, marketing arrangements as well as people-to-people contacts between the two neighbouring nations, the press release said.
