AN Indian teen has created history in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, by scoring a perfect 1600 in the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) standardised test which is organised for university admissions in the United States.
Ahaan Shetty, who is a Grade 11 student at GEMS Modern Academy in Dubai, answered all 154 students correctly.
He scored the highest possible score of 1600 (800 in maths and same in reading/writing) in SAT held last month. The results of the tests were declared last week.
The boy, who belongs to the Indian city of Mumbai, had previously recorded a near-perfect score of 1520.
“I felt I could do better so I practised some more and took the SAT again. I thought I did better this time but I was pleasantly surprised to get a perfect score,” he was quoted as saying.
Shetty wants to study physics, his favourite subject, at a leading university in the US after graduating from high school next year.
He also loves to play piano, run in track-and-field and is a big fan of robotics.
