APNA BHADA, an Indian app-based taxi platform, will provide 3,500 new cars to the drivers at nominal costs. The idea behind the incentive is to introduce maximum numbers of taxis on the roads and provide maximum benefits to drivers who cannot afford to buy a new car, ANI/GPRC reported.
Murtuza Ali, the founder and chief executive officer of Apna Bhada, said they did a major research on the matter and found that while there are drivers who want to work and earn a living but do not have the finance to buy new cars, there are also people who have purchased new cars on loans but find it tough to pay the monthly installments and make a profit from the taxi.
To solve this problem, Apna Bhada has taken this initiative to provide drivers with new cars at no cost and it is supported by Maruti Ltd. which will provide their most popular models such as Wagon R & Ertiga to Apna Bhada at an exclusive contract.
Ali said Apna Bhada’s target is to introduce maximum numbers of taxis in the coming few months. By August, the company is going to provide 2,500 News cars to drivers in Delhi NCR (National Capital Region) and 1,000 cars in Bengaluru.
With this initiative, the drivers can have their own new cars with no burden of monthly installments and can earn their livelihood with a peace of mind.
“We saw that during the pandemic and after pandemic, many drivers weren’t able to pay their EMIs (equated monthly installment) and as a result, they lost their vehicles and their hard-earned money to become jobless. We saw that at the end of the day, only drivers are getting affected but no one is ready to think about their situation.
“Drivers are the backbone of the mobility industry. If drivers are not happy, then how can any mobility company move further. After looking into the matter, we decided to provide new cars to the drivers at nominal costs. The drivers only need to pay for the registration, insurance cost and other charges. The car’s showroom cost will be provided by Apna Bhada and Apna Bhada will pay the drivers Rs 2,500 a day for three years. So if a driver can earn around rupees 75,000 per month, rupees nine lakh per year and rupees 27 lakh in three years, it is a handsome amount for the driver to make their life easy.”
