While some netizens were irked by her act, others were in split.

AS PEOPLE standing on the way of Cyclone Biparjoy waited with bated breath its arrival that threatened massive destruction and human lives and authorities were leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the impact was minimum, a television news anchor herself became the headlines while covering the calamity.
In an Indian news channel, which is known for its strong nationalist stands, the anchor was seen scaling new heights of melodrama while reporting about the cyclone, which has also threatened the coasts of Pakistan. In a video that went viral, she was seen ‘braving’ the cyclone by holding an umbrella with the logo of the channel printed on it and seemed to be fighting gutsy winds and could not stand in stormy conditions. There was also the sound of storm in the background. But as it was seen in the video, she was doing it all within the comfort of her newsroom, leaving some netizens irked while others in splits.
Some also said that the background video that was used in the show was from a past hurricane in Florida, US.
“We have now reached Gujarat’s Dwarka, and it’s so intense that even standing here is a challenge,” the anchor says as she wobbled into the studio, allegedly in the storm.
Here are some hilarious reactions to the news anchor’s bizarre act:
