“Warm greetings to @SecBlinken and the Government & people of the United States of America on their Independence Day. Prime Minister @narendramodi’s landmark visit has opened many new domains for taking our Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership forward,” the diplomat tweeted.
The US Independence Day is celebrated on July 4, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. It is a day of nationwide celebrations in the US, marked by fireworks and various festive events.
During Modi’s four-day state visit to the US in June, he engaged in a series of significant events. He attended meetings with top Indian and American CEOs, received a ceremonial welcome at the White House and was hosted for a state dinner by president Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden. He also had a state luncheon with vice president Kamala Harris and Blinken.
The India-US relationship has evolved into a global strategic partnership based on shared democratic values and increasing convergence of interests on various fronts. Frequent exchange of high-level political visits have provided momentum to bilateral cooperation, covering diverse areas such as trade, investment, defence, security, education, science and technology, cyber security, civil nuclear energy, space technology, clean energy, environment, agriculture and health.
India’s ministry of external affairs has emphasised that the partnership between India and the US is broad-based and multi-sectoral, reflecting the depth and breadth of cooperation between the two nations.
