Lauding the unprecedented possibilities in the energy sector outlined by Indian prime minister Narendra Modi in his address at India Energy Week, global energy CEOs on Monday said that India is emerging as the most attractive place for exploration of oil and gas with the country poised as a global bright spot, ANI reported. The leaders from the energy sector in India and across the world, as part of the mega event met PM Modi and said the PM appreciated the suggestions made by international oil agencies. PM Modi on Monday inaugurated India Energy Week 2023 in Bengaluru and launched several initiatives including uniforms under the ‘Unbottled’ initiative of Indian Oil. These uniforms are made of recycled PET bottles.
The southern Indian state of Telangana on Monday announced India’s first new mobility-focused cluster, Telangana Mobility Valley (TMV), at the first edition of Mobility Next Hyderabad Summit — part of the Hyderabad E-Mobility Week, to further accelerate the growth of sustainable mobility in India, ANI/NewsVoir reported. Sharing the details of the TMV, KT Rama Rao, Minister for IT E&C, MA&UD and Industries & Commerce, in his inaugural address, said, “Telangana Mobility Valley will create best-in-class infrastructure making Telangana the most competitive destination for both manufacturing and E R&D in India.”
The Indian agriculture ministry on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a private social enterprise Digital Green under the PPP (Public-Private Partnership) framework to build a national-level digital extension platform, PTI reported. The platform will host a digital library of curated multi-format multi-lingual content, help extension workers access and deliver curated content to farmers on time and upskill the vast network of extension workers in agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, livestock and rural livelihood missions through certified online courses, the ministry said.
Power transmission and distribution company Adani Transmission of diversified Adani conglomerate on Monday announced its earnings data for the October-December 2022 quarter, ANI reported. The Adani Group company’s profit after tax rose 73 per cent on a yearly basis to Rs 478 crore (£48 million) during the December quarter. In the same quarter of 2021, the profits were Rs 277 crore (£27.8 million). Coming to consolidated revenue from operations, it increased about 16 per cent to Rs 3,037 crore (£305.3 million) versus Rs 2,623 crore (£263.6 million) reported same quarter of 2021. Its distribution revenue increased on account of a consistent uptick in energy demand.
