The Indian government is considering a $2 billion-incentive programme for the green hydrogen industry, Reuters reported citing three sources, in a bid to slash emissions and become a major export player in the field. The 180-billion-rupee ($2.2 billion) incentive plans to reduce the production cost of green hydrogen by a fifth in the next five years, said a senior government official and an industry manager working in renewable energy sector. It would do this partly by raising the scale of the industry, they said. The US and the European Union have already approved incentives worth billions of dollars for green hydrogen projects.
Xiaomi India on Tuesday announced its partnership with Reliance Jio to offer the telco’s ‘True 5G’ experience to its consumers, PTI reported. Smartphone models supporting the Standalone (SA) network have received a software update to work seamlessly on Reliance Jio’s network, according to a statement. The enabled devices include Mi 11 Ultra 5G, Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G, Xiaomi 11T Pro 5G, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, Redmi Note 11T 5G, Redmi 11 Prime 5G, Redmi Note 10T 5G, Mi 11X 5G, Mi 11X Pro 5G, Redmi K50i 5G, Xiaomi 11i 5G and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge 5G. “Xiaomi India…today announced its partnership with Reliance Jio to offer a ‘True 5G’ experience to their consumers…All Xiaomi 5G Smartphones to support Jio True 5G network,” the statement said.
Housing sales hit an all-time high this year to nearly 3.65 lakh (0.365 million) units across seven major cities, beating the previous high of 2014, on strong demand for residential properties despite a hike in mortgage rates, according to Anarock, PTI reported. The prices of residential properties have risen in the range of 4-7 per cent primarily due to an increase in the input costs and demand comeback post-Covid-19, it said. Releasing the demand-supply data of India’s top residential primary (fresh sale) markets, property consultant Anarock said that the housing sales rose 54 per cent this year to 3,64,900 units as against 2,36,500 units in 2021 across the seven cities — Delhi-NCR, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune. The last peak was seen in 2014 when 3.43 lakh units were sold across the top seven cities.
Max Healthcare on Tuesday said it has entered into a partnership with genomics biotech firm Anuva to conduct genomic-based research on various communicable and non-communicable diseases in India, PTI reported. The two partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a five-year engagement, Max Healthcare said in a statement. The objective of the research will be to identify insights for precision medicine application across diseases including breast cancer, lung cancer, diabetes, cardiac disease, kidney disease, drug resistant tuberculosis, and others, it added. Under the collaboration, Max Healthcare will provide its expertise in clinical research and will serve as the clinical centre for data and/or sample collection from individuals who consent to share their data for the purpose of research.
