Indians spend just three hours on average researching cars online, with the ability to browse an extensive selection of vehicles with transparent pricing, according to a report, ANI reported. Many dealerships are conducting the entire sales process online to cater to the growing demand for online car buying, CARS24, an Indian online used car marketplace, said in a report. It said with the convenience of being able to complete the entire purchasing process from home, including financing and delivery, online platforms have made it easier than ever to buy a car online. According to the report — Drive Time Quarterly Report by CARS24, there is a significant shift among Indian consumers for purchasing and selling pre-owned cars.

India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a man and recovered a huge cache of cash, gold and drugs as it carried out searches in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in a case related to an Indo-Sri Lankan illegal drugs and arms trade racket aimed at the revival of the terror group LTTE, an official said on Friday. Ayyappan Nandhu was arrested during the raids conducted at the residential and business premises of eight suspects in Chennai on Thursday, taking the number of people held in the case so far to 14, a spokesperson of the NIA said.

Afcons Infrastructure has emerged as the lowest bidder to construct 21-kilometres (km) underground package C-2 of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project, ANI/PNN reported. The financial bids of two technically qualified bidders were opened on Friday and Afcons Infrastructure Limited have quoted lowest bid, according to a statement from NHSRC accessed by ANI. The technical bids of this tender were opened on February 9, 2023. Package C2 of the main-line will link Bandra Kurla Complex Station to Shilphata Ramp, and consist of roughly three km “undersea” twin tunnels below Thane Creek. Indian Railways subsidiary, National High Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRC), had opened financial bids for the construction of 21 km long-tunnel, which includes the country’s first 7-km undersea tunnel in Maharashtra, for Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train under the MAHSR C-2 package.

India has emerged as one of the top three markets for Microsoft’s new Bing preview, which has ChatGPT incorporated into it, and is its biggest image creator market, a senior company official has said, asserting that the search engine is much better than its rival Google. Powered by ChatGPT, Microsoft launched the new Bing preview on February 7. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022. “Search has changed and will change. It’s not going away. Just like when television came into existence, radio didn’t go away, but TV got a lot more excitement. Same will happen here. The new capabilities of AI of chat of answers are now increasingly exciting because they’re helping answer questions that search didn’t do. And with Bing, we are completely unique in that leadership today,” Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president and consumer chief marketing officer of Microsoft told PTI.

PNC Infratech has received a letter of acceptance from Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Authority) for a project worth Rs 771.46 crore (£75.8 million), according to a statement shared with exchanges, ANI reported. “…We are pleased to inform you that our Company has received Letter of Acceptance from Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (Authority) on April 6, 2023, for the said project,” the company said in a regulatory filing. The contract entails design and construction of civil works from 29.68 – 49.7 km and from 55.6 – 61.5 km and its connectivity to the Indian Railways network from New Patli to Patli Station and New Patli to Sultanpur Station, among other things, PNF Infratech said.
