India cricketer Rishabh Pant, injured in deadly car crash, undergoes plastic surgery on forehead

India cricketer Rishabh Pant, who met a deadly car accident while driving from Delhi to his hometown of Roorkee in the northern state of Uttarakhand early on Friday (30), has undergone a minor plastic surgery on forehead.

The 25-year-old wicket-keeper-batter was stable and out of danger, Shyam Sharma, director of Delhi & District Cricket Association for which Pant plays, told NDTV.

He also said that a team from DDCA was going to visit him at the Max Hospital in Dehradun where he was receiving treatment and the decision on whether he needed to be shifted to Delhi for treatment was yet to be taken.

“Rishabh Pant underwent a minor plastic surgery near his forehead. A 3-member DDCA team is reaching Dehradun in an hour. BCCI is constantly in touch with the doctors at Max Hospital and with Pant’s family. He is currently stable and out of danger. We are yet to decide whether he needs to be shifted to Delhi or not,” Sharma said on Saturday (31).

Pant narrowly escaped death after his Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle hit a road barrier and caught fire on the Delhi-Dehradun highway. He sustained severe injuries.

According to reports, the cricketer had dozed off on the wheel. He was driving alone.

According to SK Singh, superintendent of police, Haridwar (Rural), Pant was going to Roorkee to meet his relatives.

On Saturday, veteran Indian actors Anil Kapoor and Anupam Kher visited Pant at the hospital and met his relatives.

They said everything was fine and they made Pant laugh a lot.
