Hrithik Roshan recently gave fans a major update on War 2, his much-anticipated action film co-starring South superstar Jr NTR. Speaking at an event in Atlanta, Georgia, Hrithik revealed that the film’s shoot is almost complete—with just one song left to be filmed. The final song, which features both Hrithik and Jr NTR, is all that remains before War 2 wraps up production.
The actor admitted to feeling a mix of nerves and excitement about the upcoming shoot, particularly because of Jr NTR’s impressive on-screen energy. “Bohut darr raha tha main ki part 2 kaisi hogi (I was very afraid about how the sequel would turn out),” Hrithik said candidly. “But I have to say I am extremely proud of this film. Just one song is left, and that’s with Jr NTR, which I’m going back now to shoot. I hope I do well. I’m nervous—and he’s amazing.”

Hrithik also called Jr NTR his favourite co-star during the event, praising the Telugu actor for his professionalism and talent. “I just did War 2 with him, and he is amazing. He’s brilliant. He’s such a fine teammate, man! And I think we’ve done something really good. I can’t wait for you guys to watch it. War 2, August 14,” Hrithik told the audience, confirming the film’s release date.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is part of Yash Raj Films’ ambitious Spy Universe, which already includes blockbusters like Pathaan and Tiger 3. The sequel continues from the 2019 hit War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. This time, Jr NTR joins the franchise, making his official Bollywood debut, while Kiara Advani plays the female lead.
Hrithik’s comments have only added to the excitement around War 2, especially since this marks a crossover between Bollywood and South Indian cinema’s two biggest stars. The film is already being positioned as a major Independence Day release.
Meanwhile, Hrithik is also stepping into a new role—as a director. His father, filmmaker Rakesh Roshan, recently revealed that Hrithik will be directing Krrish 4, the next installment in the popular superhero franchise. Sharing an emotional post on Instagram, Rakesh wrote, “Duggu, 25 years ago I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years, you are being launched as a director by Aditya Chopra and myself to take forward our most ambitious film, #Krrish4.”
While the cast and crew for Krrish 4 remain under wraps, fans can look forward to a double dose of Hrithik Roshan in 2025—as both a lead actor in War 2 and a debutant director in Krrish 4.
