Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol have once again come together on screen, sparking excitement among fans. However, their reunion is not for a sequel to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD), despite the long-standing demand for one. The trio, who starred in Zoya Akhtar’s 2011 cult classic, recreated some of the film’s most memorable moments—this time for an advertisement.
The actors’ latest collaboration is for an Abu Dhabi tourism campaign, where they bring back their beloved on-screen camaraderie. The advertisement quickly went viral, making fans nostalgic about the film’s charm. In the video, Hrithik and Farhan humorously argue over car seats, while Abhay continues to play the mediator—just like their roles in ZNMD.
However, there is a slight twist: unlike in the film where Farhan’s character throws Hrithik’s phone, this time, Hrithik takes revenge by tossing Farhan’s phone and handing him a pink flip phone instead.

The ad left fans thrilled, with many taking to social media to express their excitement. One fan commented, “The phone throwing is genius….loved it.” Another user wrote, “Time to re-watch ZNMD 🫶🏻.” Some fans couldn’t help but point out how youthful the actors still look, with one saying, “Haven’t aged these bwoys have they 😍.”
The overwhelming love for ZNMD and its characters also reignited discussions about a potential sequel. One fan shared their ideal plot, saying, “I would watch a ZNMD 2 with the married boys having a mid-life crisis and doing a trip once again and sort of falling in love with life/their partners in the process again in a heartbeat.”
While fans continue to hope for a sequel, filmmakers Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti have remained cautious about revisiting the film. In a recent interview, Reema Kagti addressed the growing speculation and explained why a sequel hasn’t been confirmed yet.
“People might think I’m being a bit pompous because it is our film, but I really feel, because of the pressure on us to write Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2, maybe that’s a film we should leave alone till we get a really good idea,” Reema told Zoom.
This statement suggests that while the filmmakers acknowledge the demand for a sequel, they are not willing to move forward unless they come up with a truly compelling story.
Though ZNMD 2 remains uncertain, Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, and Abhay Deol’s latest collaboration proves that their on-screen chemistry is still as strong as ever. Fans can continue to cherish their iconic journey through the 2011 film, while hoping that one day, the trio might embark on another cinematic adventure together.
Until then, this Abu Dhabi ad serves as a delightful reminder of the magic they created in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara—a film that still resonates with audiences years later.
