Ground Zero, an upcoming action thriller by Excel Entertainment, has made cinematic history by becoming the first film in 38 years to premiere in Kashmir. Held in Srinagar, this grand premiere marked a cultural milestone and was specially organized for BSF jawans, aligning perfectly with the film’s patriotic theme.
The film is inspired by a real-life Border Security Force (BSF) mission and stars Emraan Hashmi in the lead role as Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. It marks Hashmi’s first-ever portrayal of an Indian army officer, adding depth to the gripping narrative. Sai Tamhankar plays his wife, and the film is directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar.
The red carpet in Srinagar was a star-studded affair, graced by the cast and crew including Emraan Hashmi, Sai Tamhankar, and director Deoskar. Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar attended along with their spouses Dolly Sidhwani and Shibani Dandekar. Co-producer Arhan Bagati also joined the premiere, making it a truly memorable event that blended Bollywood glamour with national pride.
Ground Zero stands out for its emotional depth and patriotic fervor, as highlighted in the recently released trailer. The film promises a riveting account of bravery, sacrifice, and duty, drawing attention to one of BSF’s most legendary yet lesser-known missions in Kashmir.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, the film is co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia, Vishal Ramchandani, Sundeep C. Sidhwani, Arhan Bagati, Talisman Films, Abhishek Kumar, and Nishikant Roy.
Ground Zero is set for a nationwide theatrical release on April 25, 2025, and is already one of the most anticipated patriotic dramas of the year.
