The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday (22) said that German sportswear giant Adidas is set to become the new kit sponsor of the national side.
Reports earlier this year had said that a deal was nearing closure and BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Monday confirmed the move on Twitter. He did not give financial details or the length of the agreement.
“I’m pleased to announce @BCCI’s partnership with @adidas as a kit sponsor,” Shah, son of India’s home minister Amit Shah, tweeted.
“We are committed to growing the game of cricket and could not be more excited to partner with one of the world’s leading sportswear brands. Welcome aboard, @adidas.”

Three years ago, the Indian cricket board had signed a three-year deal with the Mobile Premier League’s sports merchandise brand MPL Sports to replace Nike, US sportswear manufacturer, Reuters reported, adding that clothing brand Killer Jeans then came in as an interim sponsor after the deal came to an end prematurely and their contract is set to get over on May 31.
