Hollywood actor George Clooney and internationally renowned human rights attorney Amal Clooney have redefined modern romance with their low-drama, high-respect relationship. As the celebrity power couple celebrates a decade of marriage in 2024, George revealed in a heartfelt interview that he and Amal have never had a single argument in their 10 years together.
Appearing on CBS Mornings on April 21, George, 63, told host Gayle King, “Amal and I, we were here with you once before, and remember we said we’d never had an argument—and we still haven’t. We’re still trying to find something to fight about.”
George and Amal Clooney got married in 2014 after a whirlwind romance that surprised many, including the Oscar-winning actor himself. The Good Night, and Good Luck star had long declared that he wouldn’t marry again following his divorce from actress Talia Balsam in 1993. But meeting Amal Alamuddin changed everything.
“I think because I started so late with Amal,” George explained during the segment. “And I feel so extraordinarily lucky to have met this incredible woman. I feel as if I hit the jackpot. And there isn’t a day that goes by where I don’t feel like I’m the luckiest man in the world.”
Now parents to 7-year-old twins Ella and Alexander, the Clooneys continue to keep their relationship grounded in love and mutual admiration. Amal, 47, who balances her career in human rights law with family life, has also opened up in the past about the surprising ease of their connection.
In a 2022 interview on CBS Mornings, Amal called their relationship “madness to some of our friends,” but credited openness and emotional availability as key to their success. “I think that it’s 99 percent luck just to meet the right person,” she said. “And I think the one thing we would take is to not be cynical—just to be open. I was surprised that you were not cynical or guarded at all and things just moved very quickly.”
Despite a 17-year age gap between them, George said he initially thought Amal wouldn’t be interested in dating him. “I didn’t really think I’d have much of a chance with her,” he told The New York Times in February. “She seemed to have everything she needed.”
Ten years later, he remains in awe of his wife. “I’m proud to be in the same room with her,” George shared. “I’m proud to be her husband. I’m proud to be the father of kids with her.”
In a celebrity world often filled with headlines about breakups and feuds, George and Amal Clooney’s story stands out as a testament to love built on respect, communication, and genuine companionship.
