Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood has been a long-awaited moment for his fans, and their reactions reflect sheer joy. The teaser post quickly filled with comments like:
“The world is healing. This era is finally back?!”

Clearly, the anticipation for Abir Gulaal is sky-high, with fans thrilled to see romance making a strong comeback in Bollywood.
Abir Gulaal is directed by Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Indian Stories, A Richer Lens, and Aarjay Pictures. The film is set to release on May 9, 2025, marking Fawad’s first Bollywood film in nearly a decade.
His last Hindi film was Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in 2016. However, following political tensions between India and Pakistan, an unofficial ban on Pakistani artists working in Bollywood was imposed. It wasn’t until 2023 that the Bombay High Court dismissed a petition calling for a formal ban, opening doors for cross-border artistic collaborations again.
Fawad’s return is being celebrated not just for his talent but also as a symbol of artistic unity between the two nations.
The official synopsis of Abir Gulaal describes it as a heartwarming love story set against the picturesque backdrop of London. The film is expected to be a blend of laughter, heartfelt emotions, and the undeniable chemistry between Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor.
With its romantic charm and a stellar cast, Abir Gulaal is already being hailed as a much-needed revival of Bollywood’s classic romantic-comedy genre.
As the film’s tagline promises—”Bringing love back”—fans can expect a refreshing, feel-good cinematic experience when the film hits theaters this May.
