THE THANE district authorities have directed the organisers of Coldplay’s upcoming concerts in Navi Mumbai to ensure no children participate on stage during the performances.

A notice issued on January 14 also mandated that children attending the event must use earplugs or hearing protection.

The directive comes ahead of the British band’s ‘Music of the Spheres World Tour’ concerts scheduled at the DY Patil Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21.

The notice was issued following a complaint by a Chandigarh resident who raised concerns about potential health risks for children due to high sound levels and flashing lights.

Addressing the organisers, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, and the event ticketing partner BookMyShow, the notice explicitly stated: “Do not allow any child to enter into the concert without earplug, hearing protection,” and warned against using children “on stage in any form.”

The district child protection officer emphasised that non-compliance with these instructions would result in strict action against the organisers.
