The event marked Blake’s first red carpet appearance with Ryan Reynolds since the It Ends With Us controversy involving Justin Baldoni. Upon spotting Schumer, Lively rushed to hug her, and a brief but intense exchange followed.
A professional lip reader, Nicola Hickling, analyzed the viral video and shared the conversation details with DailyMail. According to Hickling, Lively, looking emotional, told Schumer, “I need this hug so much.” As she glanced at Reynolds, she added, “God help me.” Schumer reassured her, saying, “You’re gonna be okay,” followed by, “They are projecting onto him.” Lively then responded, “That’s perfect, thank you for being there.”
