Ahead of his visit to the temple with his family, Ambani said Lord Ram was arriving on the day and January 22 will be observed as Ram Diwali for entire India.

MUKESH Ambani, chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and India’s richest man, on Monday (22) made a donation of Rs 2.51 crore (£237,596) along with his family members to the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which looks after the construction and management of the Ram temple in the northern temple town of Ayodhya that was inaugurated the same day.
The decision about the donation was made shortly after the business family visited the temple for the consecration ceremony. Prime minister Narendra Modi presided over the ritual.
Mukesh Ambani was accompanied to Ayodhya by his wife Neeta Ambani, children Akash, Isha and Anant, son-in-law Anand Piramal, daughter-in-law Shloka Mehta and soon-to-be-daughter-in-law Radhika Merchant.

The senior Ambani, 66, has made donations for several temples in the past, with the most recent being a Rs 5 crore (£473,299) donation made to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee last October.
In February last year, he and Akash visited the Somnath Temple in the western state of Gujarat and donated Rs 1.51 crore (£142,936) to its trust.
