Ankita Lokhande and her husband, Vicky Jain, recently appeared on Elvish Yadav’s podcast, where they had a candid discussion about groupism in Bollywood. The conversation took an interesting turn when Elvish, the YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner, asked Ankita if the film industry is biased toward certain people. 4

Ankita shared her perspective, explaining that while it may not be outright bias, filmmakers and producers tend to work with people they are already familiar with. “Not biased, but yes, there are people who want to take their own people to go forward. There’s groupism,” Ankita said.

At this point, Elvish interrupted and made a cheeky remark about Karan Johar. “Karan Johar ko aisa mat bolo,” he said.

However, Ankita was quick to respond, defending her point by stating that it wasn’t just Karan Johar but a widespread phenomenon in the industry. “Everyone is like that, not just Karan. I think everyone has their own group,” she clarified.

Her husband, Vicky Jain, echoed her sentiments, stating that people in Bollywood prefer working with familiar faces rather than giving opportunities to outsiders.

Ankita Lokhande has been a prominent name in the entertainment industry since her television debut in Pavitra Rishta, where she played the beloved character Archana. Her chemistry with the late Sushant Singh Rajput, who portrayed Manav, was widely appreciated, making the show a massive hit.

After establishing herself as a successful television actress, Ankita transitioned to Bollywood. She delivered powerful performances in films like Baaghi 3 and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, proving her versatility as an actress. Most recently, she was seen in Swatantrya Veer Savarkar alongside Randeep Hooda.

In 2023, Ankita also explored reality television, participating in Bigg Boss 17 with her husband, Vicky Jain. Her presence on the show kept audiences engaged, further solidifying her fanbase.

Ankita Lokhande is now gearing up for one of her most anticipated projects—Amrapali, a web series directed by Sandeep Singh. She will be portraying the iconic character of Amrapali, a celebrated royal dancer from ancient Vaishali. This project is expected to showcase Ankita in a new light, allowing her to explore a historical role with rich storytelling.

Additionally, she is currently seen in the second season of Laughter Chefs, further diversifying her career beyond films and daily soaps.

The topic of groupism and nepotism in Bollywood has been widely debated, with several actors speaking out about the challenges faced by outsiders in the industry. Ankita Lokhande’s comments add to the conversation, highlighting how networking and pre-existing relationships often determine casting choices in Bollywood. While some argue that this is a natural part of the industry, others believe it limits opportunities for fresh talent.

With Ankita continuing to carve her own path in Bollywood, fans are eager to see her upcoming projects and performances.
