Bollywood’s iconic comedy Andaz Apna Apna is all set to return to the big screen in a spectacular fashion — 31 years after its original release. This much-loved cult classic, starring Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, will hit cinemas once again on April 25, 2025, this time in a 4K remastered format with enhanced Dolby 5.1 surround sound, offering fans a richer, upgraded movie-watching experience.
The announcement has sparked a wave of excitement among 90s cinema lovers and new-age Bollywood fans alike. Salman Khan, who played the unforgettable role of ‘Prem’ in the film, took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the news.

The nostalgic announcement post included a lineup of those involved with the original film — including director Rajkumar Santoshi, producers Vinay Sinha and family, and stars Aamir Khan, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, and Shakti Kapoor.
Originally released on November 4, 1994, Andaz Apna Apna didn’t make a massive box-office impact during its initial run, but over the years, it achieved cult status, thanks to its witty dialogues, timeless comedy, and eccentric characters. The chemistry between Salman Khan’s Prem and Aamir Khan’s Amar became an unforgettable highlight in Bollywood history.
The plot of the film follows two good-for-nothing dreamers, Amar and Prem, who aim to marry a wealthy heiress, played by Raveena Tandon. However, things spiral into chaos when the heiress switches identities with her secretary, leading to a comedy of errors filled with hilarious twists, mistaken identities, and unforgettable catchphrases like “Teja main hoon, mark idhar hai.”
The script of the film was loosely inspired by the 1972 classic Victoria No. 203, but director Rajkumar Santoshi’s comic genius turned it into something truly unique. With memorable supporting characters like Crime Master Gogo (played by Shakti Kapoor) and Teja/Ram Gopal Bajaj (played by Paresh Rawal), the film remains one of the most quoted and rewatched Bollywood movies of all time.
The film’s official re-release announcement reads: “Get ready to relive the madness! Andaz Apna Apna Re-releasing in cinemas on 25th April 2025! Experience the cult classic on the big screen! Restored & Remastered in 4K & Dolby 5.1. Trailer out soon!”
With the resurgence of 90s nostalgia and a growing audience for restored classics, the re-release of ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ in 2025 is expected to be a blockbuster comeback, appealing to old fans and introducing a new generation to one of Bollywood’s greatest comedies.
