Ananya Panday has been named Chanel’s first-ever brand ambassador from India, marking a historic moment for both the luxury fashion house and the Indian fashion industry. The French luxury brand’s decision signals a deeper commitment to expanding its presence in India, a fast-growing market for global luxury labels.

Ananya Panday shared her excitement on Instagram, writing, “Beyond grateful and excited for my journey with Chanel. The first ever brand ambassador for and from India. Dreams really do come true.” Alongside the announcement, she posted a photo of herself wearing a signature Chanel handbag, celebrating the start of this new fashion chapter.

The young actress recently attended Chanel’s Cruise 2025 runway show in Paris, where she was seen in a chic ensemble by the brand. She had also made appearances at Chanel fashion events in 2024, showcasing a growing connection with the label prior to her official ambassador role.

Chanel praised Panday’s modern persona and individuality in a statement quoted by the Times of India, saying, “Ananya characterises a generation of evolving tastes and fiercely independent identities who navigate the world with their curiosities. Her values resonate with Chanel, making her the perfect choice to represent the house.”

Chanel has had a presence in India since 2005 with its flagship store in New Delhi and recently launched an e-commerce platform dedicated to Indian customers, according to ET Retail. This appointment reflects Chanel’s broader strategy to tap into India’s rising luxury consumer base, with Ananya Panday bringing youthful energy and Bollywood glamour to the French fashion house.

The collaboration cements Ananya Panday’s rising influence in global fashion while positioning Chanel as a brand in tune with contemporary Indian style icons.
