The Indian women’s team ended its one-day series in England on a happy note as it hammered the home team 3-0 in the 50-over format after losing 1-2 in the T20 internationals. The final match triggered a massive controversy after India spinner Deepti Sharma ran England’s Charlotte Dean out at the non-striker’s end, annoying home team’s cricketing fraternity.
Amid the noise over the Sharma-Dean affair, India cricketer Taniya Bhatia on Monday (26) complained on Twitter that someone stole her bag from her hotel room in London.
The 24-year-old wicket-keeper-batter said on the social media platform, “Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as a part of Indian Women’s Cricket team.@MarriottBonvoy. So unsafe.”
“Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket’s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well,” she added.

The hotel responded to Bhatia’s tweet, seeking the details.
Bhatia was part of the India squad but did not feature in any of the three one-day matches. She had played in a tour match in England on September 6.
She has represented India in two Tests, 19 ODIs, and 53 T20 internationals.
