Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan have been one of Bollywood’s most beloved on-screen pairs ever since they starred in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014). Their crackling chemistry and fun camaraderie won over fans, leading to a spiritual sequel, Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017). Despite fans eagerly waiting for a third installment, there has been no official confirmation. However, Alia has now hinted that she and Varun would love to reunite, sparking fresh excitement.
Alia Bhatt recently interacted with fans during a meet-and-greet session where she addressed the much-anticipated reunion with Varun. A viral video from the event captured her enthusiasm for working with him again. She stated, “Both VD and I are aware that it’ll be really nice for us to do one more film together. Cause we genuinely have a lot of fun together, working together. We’re like two children and two cats and dogs, always fighting. Hopefully soon. Just, again, put it out there in the universe and make a beautiful story for us to come together and it will happen, for sure. Abhi bohot time hai yaar. We both are here to stay!”
Alia’s statement has given fans fresh hope that the duo might return to the big screen together. Their last collaboration was in Kalank (2019), and since then, admirers of the #Varia jodi have been longing to see them share screen space again.
After the success of the first two Dulhania films, speculation about a third part has been ongoing. Fans have been eager for a continuation of the franchise. When asked about Dulhania 3, Alia excitedly responded, “Dulhania 3? Haan but script toh honi chahiye naa.”
The fans suggested they could come up with a script, to which Alia replied with enthusiasm, “That’s a great idea. It’ll be the first of its kind. Why don’t you come together and write a script? It’ll be amazing. I think it’s a fabulous idea.”
Her response suggests that while there are no immediate plans for the next installment, if a compelling story comes along, it could certainly be a possibility.
Currently, Varun Dhawan is preparing for his upcoming film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, co-starring Janhvi Kapoor. Initially, rumors suggested that this film was actually the next part in the Dulhania series, but Karan Johar later dismissed these reports. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is busy filming Love & War, where she shares screen space with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
With Alia’s recent comments, the idea of Dulhania 3 is once again in the spotlight. Whether it materializes or not remains to be seen, but fans can certainly continue manifesting the dream of seeing Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan together on screen once more.
