ACTOR Alia Bhatt addressed comparisons between her upcoming film “Jigra” and her husband Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal”, dismissing the notion that the films have much in common.

Speaking at a song launch event for “Jigra” on Monday, Bhatt acknowledged that while the two films share a theme, it is not a unique feature.

“It’s a genre in itself. Many films have been made along these lines. So aside from that one aspect, there aren’t any direct similarities between the two films,” she said.

In “Jigra”, Bhatt plays a sister who risks everything to save her jailed brother, portrayed by Vedang Raina. In “Animal”, Kapoor’s character takes extreme measures to avenge the attempted assassination of his father, played by Anil Kapoor.

Bhatt also spoke about her relationship with Kapoor, highlighting their mutual support for each other’s work.

“We often discuss our films and scenes with each other. I spoke to him about ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Jigra’. Every time I was uncertain, I would talk to him, and he did the same with me for ‘Animal’,” Bhatt said.

The event was attended by Bhatt, her co-star Raina, and the film’s director Vasan Bala.
