Alert in India capital after ‘unidentified flying object’ reported over Modi’s residence; cops say nothing suspicious found

AUTHORITIES were on their toes in India’s national capital New Delhi after an “unidentified flying object” was reportedly seen hovering over the official residence of prime minister Narendra Modi in the city’s central part on Monday (3) morning.

Local police, who confirmed the report, added that nothing suspicious was found.

It was reported that a call was received by the police control room around 5 am that a drone-like object was seen flying over the prime minister’s residence.

The police launched an investigation along with other security agencies but nothing suspicious was found, a senior officer informed, adding that the air traffic control did not find anything.

“An information was received at NDD control room with respect to unidentified flying object near PM residence. Thorough searches were made in nearby areas but no such object was detected. Air traffic control room (ATC) was also contacted, they also did not detect any such flying object near PM residence,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.
