Director Shoojit Sircar shared that “I Want To Talk” is inspired by a friend’s life story, exploring themes of communication and reflection in relationships

ACTOR Abhishek Bachchan spoke about the impact of working with director Shoojit Sircar on the upcoming film “I Want To Talk”, which he described as a “transformative experience.”
Bachchan praised Sircar’s unique approach to cinema, calling it “a breath of fresh air” in the Hindi film industry. The movie, a slice-of-life drama produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works, is set to release worldwide on November 22.
Bachchan discussed his character, Arjun, who is facing a life-altering surgery while navigating a complicated relationship with his daughter.
He highlighted the emotional depth required for the role, sharing, “It should push you, challenge you, give you sleepless nights… As artistes, you need to push your boundaries.”
The actor also revealed that working with Sircar offered him a renewed perspective, adding, “The greatest takeaway…was to be ‘fear free’ and ‘do something different.'”
Sircar shared that “I Want To Talk” is inspired by a friend’s life story, exploring themes of communication and reflection in relationships.
“Sometimes we regret we didn’t communicate, we didn’t talk our heart out. This film speaks about all those moments,” he explained.
According to Sircar, the film documents the key moments of life through its characters.
Reflecting on his experience, Bachchan noted that his time working with Sircar was memorable, as it allowed him to explore a different style of filmmaking.
“Life dictates what you should be doing and how you should be doing it,” Bachchan said, appreciating the opportunity to “try something different.”
He added humorously that gaining weight for the role was challenging, joking, “Don’t ever put on weight for a film again… it gets very difficult to lose it after a while.”
The cast of “I Want To Talk” also includes actors Johny Lever and Ahilya Bamroo.
