No casualties were reported.

It was reported that two sleeper classes of the train (S4 and S5) caught fire due to a short circuit. The train was stopped immediately and senior officials, including the general manager of South Central Railway, Arun Kumar Jain, rushed to the spot. The fire had spread to some other coaches and four of them got damaged.
The affected coaches were detached from the train to avoid further damage. Fire officials had a tough time in reaching the spot as the incident took place in an isolated spot.
Alternative arrangements were made for the passengers of the train to reach the terminal station.
