INDIA, reports say, has decided to extend the lockdown by two weeks.
Prime minister Narendra Modi and state heads reportedly reached a consensus on the extension during a meeting via videoconferencing on Saturday (11).
Modi has recommended three zones — red, green and yellow — for the lockdown, depending on severity of virus spread.
Following the meeting, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted that Modi had taken the “correct decision” to extend the lockdown, adding that “all gains would be lost” if restrictions were lifted.
PM has taken correct decision to extend lockdown. Today, India’s position is better than many developed countries because we started lockdown early. If it is stopped now, all gains would be lost. To consolidate, it is imp to extend it
