Television actress Navina Bole has opened up about a disturbing experience she faced with filmmaker Sajid Khan, accusing him of sexual harassment. Navina, known for her performances in shows like Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, and Kumkum Bhagya, shared her story in a conversation with Subhojit Ghosh, reigniting conversations around the filmmaker’s history of misconduct allegations.
During the interview, Navina Bole recalled how, many years ago, Sajid Khan invited her to his home under the pretext of discussing work. However, once she arrived, the meeting quickly took an inappropriate turn. “You know, I was really excited when he called me. Then he literally said, ‘Why don’t you just get off your clothes and sit in your lingerie. I need to see how comfortable you are.’” Navina said, recalling the shock and discomfort she felt at the time.
The actress mentioned that this incident took place around 2004 to 2006, shortly after her participation in the Gladrags modeling contest. She emphasized that the meeting was not at an office but at Sajid Khan’s private residence. Luckily, Navina said she had someone waiting for her downstairs, which gave her a sense of security amid the troubling situation.
“He said, ‘You wore a bikini on stage, so what’s the problem? It’s all t**s and a*s anyway.’ That’s literally how he spoke,” Navina recalled. She explained that she made an excuse to leave immediately, telling him she needed to go home and change if he truly wanted to see her in a bikini, firmly rejecting his advances.
After the incident, Navina managed to leave safely but shared that Sajid Khan continued to harass her by calling her repeatedly — up to 50 times — asking where she was and why she wasn’t returning. Even a year later, around the time she participated in Mrs. India, Sajid Khan reportedly contacted her again, seemingly unaware that they had already met under such problematic circumstances.
“He called me again and asked, ‘What do you do? You should come see me for a role.’ I realized he must be hitting on so many women that he didn’t even remember the previous encounter,” Navina said, highlighting a pattern of behavior she believes affected many women in the industry.
Sajid Khan has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct over the years, especially during the #MeToo movement in 2018. Several actresses, including Saloni Chopra, Sherlyn Chopra, Aahana Kumra, and Mandana Karimi, had previously spoken out against him.
Navina Bole’s latest revelation adds another serious accusation to Sajid Khan’s controversial record. The actress, who has built a strong career in television with shows like Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai, Yahaaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, and Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal, said she hopes her story serves as a warning and encourages more women to stand up against exploitation in the entertainment industry.
