Veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal made a surprising revelation recently — he drank his own urine to recover faster from a serious knee injury. Speaking during an interview with The Lallantop, Rawal shared the extraordinary experience that took place during the filming of Rajkumar Santoshi’s action-packed film Ghatak.

The actor recalled that the injury happened while he was shooting intense action scenes for Ghatak. After sustaining the injury, he was immediately rushed to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital by fellow actors Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa. At the time, Rawal feared the worst — that his acting career might come to an abrupt halt because of the seriousness of his leg injury.

During his hospital stay, he received a rather unconventional piece of advice from veteran action director and Ajay Devgn’s father, Veeru Devgn. Rawal recounted, “Veeru Devgn had come to visit me when he heard about my injury. He asked me what had happened, and after I explained, he told me to drink my own urine first thing in the morning. He said, ‘All fighters do this. You will never face any issues if you follow this.’”

Veeru Devgn also advised Rawal to avoid alcohol, mutton, and tobacco, and stick to simple, healthy meals. Taking the advice seriously, Paresh Rawal decided to approach the remedy with full commitment. “I thought if I am going to do this, I will do it properly. I decided to sip it like beer to make the experience memorable,” he humorously shared.

For 15 consecutive days, Rawal drank his own urine each morning. The results were astonishing not only to him but also to his doctors. According to Rawal, while such injuries typically take two to two-and-a-half months to heal, he recovered in just a month and a half. “When the X-ray reports came in, the doctor was surprised,” he said, highlighting the unexpectedly quick healing process.

The revelation has taken fans by surprise, with many appreciating Rawal’s open-mindedness and dedication to alternative healing methods. His story has sparked conversations about age-old remedies and the importance of having faith during challenging times.

On the professional front, Paresh Rawal continues to stay busy with several exciting projects lined up. He will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, where he shares screen space with Akshay Kumar and Tabu. Additionally, fans are eagerly awaiting his return in the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3, alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty, promising another round of laughter and nostalgia.

Paresh Rawal’s incredible story is not only a testament to his resilience but also reflects his never-say-die spirit that has made him one of Bollywood’s most enduring actors.
