NEARLY five days after the vandalizing of the Khalsa Diwan Society Gurdwara on Ross Street in Vancouver, the police have released images of a truck and two suspects.

The two men were seen outside the gurdwara early Saturday when it was reportedly spray-painted with graffiti in both English and Punjabi, Vancouver Sun has reported.

Vancouver Police Department has urged that anyone who recognizes them should contact them.

A police officer said the vehicle passed through the area around the time of the offence, between 4 and 4:30 am.

The police believe that they may have information about this crime as they were seen near the entrance of gurdwara, he added.

Police said one of them was wearing a yellow cap, jacket, and black pants, while the other was clad in a grey hoodie with black pants.

The Khalsa Diwan Society, which runs the Ross Street Gurdwara, has blamed the vandalism on a small group of Sikh separatists advocating for Khalistan.

Hindu temple defaced

It may be recalled that a Hindu temple in Surrey was defaced by vandals with pro-Khalistan graffiti on April 19.

The incident happened at Shree Lakshmi Narayana Mandir, and the security camera was stolen during this act.

The temple authorities claimed that the vandals had defaced the entrance and the temple pillars with the word ‘Khalistan’.
