Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ makes a good opening at box office

ACTION flick “Baby John” opened with a net collection of ₹112.5 million on its first day, making it the highest opener among remake films released after the pandemic, the makers revealed on Thursday.

The film stars Varun Dhawan in dual roles as police inspector Satya Verma and his alter ego, John. Directed by Kalees, “Baby John” was released on Wednesday.

Baby John is presented by Jio Studios in association with Atlee and Cine1 Studios and produced by A for Apple Studios and Cine1 Studios.

“Baby John” is the biggest opener for a non-franchise film post-pandemic.

A remake of the Tamil film “Theri” (2016), directed by Atlee and starring Vijay, Baby John also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
