ACTOR Allu Arjun was released from Chanchalguda prison on Saturday morning, where he had spent the previous night following his arrest in connection with a woman’s death during a stampede at the premiere of his film “Pushpa 2: The Rule”.

The incident, which occurred on December 4 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left her eight-year-old son hospitalized. A stampede-like situation ensued when thousands of fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor.

Police filed a case against Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on a complaint from the deceased woman’s family.

Speaking to the media after his release, Arjun expressed condolences to the woman’s family, calling the incident “very, very unfortunate.” He stated, “I’ll cooperate with them and I’ll do the needful.”

The actor emphasized his respect for the legal process, saying, “When the law is taking its course, I should not deal with the case, so I should not talk about it.”

Although the Telangana High Court granted him bail on Friday, Arjun had to remain in custody overnight as the prison authorities received the order late.

His lawyer, Ashok Reddy, criticized the delay as “illegal detention,” claiming that the authorities failed to act on a clear directive to release the actor immediately.

After leaving the prison at 6:45 am, Arjun visited his family’s production house, Geetha Arts, before heading home, where he reunited with his family.

Security was tightened outside his residence due to a potential influx of fans
