“ZERO DAY,” a six-episode drama series starring Robert De Niro, will premiere on Netflix on February 20.
The show marks De Niro’s first regular television role, where he portrays former US President George Mullen.
According to the official logline, Mullen, as head of the Zero Day Commission, is tasked with investigating a catastrophic cyber-attack that has caused nationwide chaos and thousands of fatalities.
The series explores themes of disinformation and the intersection of power among technology, Wall Street, and government, as Mullen’s pursuit of the truth forces him to confront personal secrets.
The cast includes Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen, Connie Britton, Dan Stevens, and Matthew Modine.
Guest appearances will feature Bill Camp, Gaby Hoffmann, Clark Gregg, and McKinley Belcher III.
The series is co-created by Eric Newman, Noah Oppenheim, and Michael Schmidt, with Lesli Linka Glatter directing. De Niro, 81, recently appeared in Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon”.
