THE TRAILER of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 was launched at Jaipur’s Raj Mandir cinema hall on Wednesday, with the film bringing back Vidya Balan to the iconic role of Manjulika.

Balan, who first played the character in 2007, expressed her excitement to rejoin the franchise, thanking both director Anees Bazmee and producer Bhushan Kumar for casting her in the third installment.

“I’m overjoyed. This film has given me immense love over the past 17 years, and I feel I’ll receive even more in the next 17,” Balan said during the launch event, where she was joined by co-stars Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Rajpal Yadav.

Aaryan, who reprises his role as Rooh Baba from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, spoke highly of working with Balan and Madhuri Dixit, who is also part of the cast. He recalled a memorable scene involving both actors, describing it as “thrilling, a bit creepy, and somewhat horrific.”

He added, “I was just mesmerized watching them. They make such complicated things look seamless on screen.”

Though Dixit could not attend the event due to prior commitments, she sent a video message to the audience, sharing her enthusiasm for the film.

“I’m incredibly excited to be part of this remarkable journey… Can’t wait for everyone to experience what we have created,” she said.

The decision to launch the trailer in Jaipur was significant, as both Bhool Bhulaiyaa and its sequel were shot there.

Balan highlighted the city’s connection to the franchise, noting that it played a role in both films. “Jaipur shares a long-standing connection with the franchise,” she said.

Anees Bazmee, who directed the second film and returns for the third, teased that this installment would elevate the horror-comedy genre. “We have pushed the limits of the horror-comedy genre to bring something fresh and entertaining,” he said.

“Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3” is set to release this Diwali, with the trailer promising an unforgettable mix of horror and comedy.

The first version of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” was directed by Priyadarshan and produced by T Series.

It was a remake of the Malayalam-language film “Manichitrathazhu”, and starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Shiney Ahuja, and Ameesha Patel.

“Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” was released in 2022 and starred Tabu, Karthik Aryan and Kiara Advani. It was directed by Anees Bazmi.
