RENOWNED designer Manish Malhotra has launched his ‘World Collection’ at Harrods London’s Private Shopping Penthouse.
The event marks a significant milestone as Malhotra is the first Indian to present his designs at this exclusive venue, which will run from September 16 to 29.
Malhotra’s collection, according to a press release, is an “artistic tribute to India’s craftsmanship, reinterpreted for the contemporary world.”
It features gowns, saree-gowns, and brocade jackets adorned with traditional Indian embroidery techniques such as zardozi, chikankari, and gota patti. The collection aims to blend Indian heritage with modern design elements.
The release also highlights the significance of this collaboration coinciding with the 175th anniversary of Harrods.
One piece in the collection honors this milestone by incorporating Harrods’ signature green color. “This collaboration bridges tradition and contemporary design, East and West, marking a beginning of a new era in global fashion,” the statement added.
The collection is intended to elevate Indian craftsmanship and bring it to a global audience, celebrating both the country’s cultural heritage and its modern innovations.
