MUMBAI police have arrested two people after a body was found inside a suitcase at the busy Dadar railway station on Monday, according to media reports.

The police suspect that the two suspects had committed the murder and wanted to dispose of the body at a far away place.

They brought the body in a suitcase to the station to travel out of the city.

The railway police stumbled upon the suitcase during a luggage-checking operation at Dadar station early Monday.

The police arrested one of the suspects at the railway station, while the other escaped and later arrested in Ulhasnagar.

Upon interrogation, it was revealed that the murder took place in Pydhunie.

A dispute between the victim and the accused over a female friend led to the murder.

The suspects have been identified as Jai Praveen Chavda and his accomplice Shivjeet Surendra Singh.

They were involved in the murder of Arshad Ali Sheikh, a resident of Santacruz.

Interestingly, the two suspects and the victim are deaf-mutes and communicate using sign language.

The victim was invited to the suspect’s house for a party, during which a dispute broke out again and escalated to the point of murder.

The body was wrapped in plastic and packed in a suitcase, the police said.

Further investigation is underway, and more details are awaited.
