A NUMBER of leaders praised prime minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India as the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit kicked off in Gandhinagar in the western state on Wednesday (10). A number of top business entities and leaders unveiled plans to make investments in the state at the forum which was inaugurated by Modi.
Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of American chip-manufacturing giant Micron, lauded the Indian PM over his vision to open the country to manufacturing of semiconductors.
Mehrotra, who met Modi during the latter’s state visit to the US last June, said the initiative will become a huge economic driver in the future as India moves forward to become the third largest economy in the world.

Mukesh Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries Limited and the richest Asian, called Modi the most successful prime minister of India and the greatest global leader of the current times. Speaking about his company’s investment in Gujarat amounting to more than Rs 12 lakh crore in the last 10 years, Ambani called the biennial summit as “the most prestigious investor summit in the world”.

“Our beloved leader who has emerged as the greatest global leader of our times. And he is Shri Narendrabhai Modi, the most successful prime minister in India’s history,” the noted businessman said.

German ambassador to India and Bhutan Philipp Ackermann said India has emerged as a key player in world affairs and an engine of global economic growth.
He also lauded Gujarat over its long tradition of international trade and its current position as a powerhouse of India’s development.
