BRITISH minister of state for South Asia Lord Tariq Ahmad on Wednesday (10) remarked that prime minister Narendra Modi defined a living bridge between the UK and India. Speaking at the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit that kicked off in Gandhinagar in the western state of Gujarat the same day, the British leader also conveyed prime minister Rishi Sunak’s greetings to Modi.
Addressing the Vibrant Gujarat Summit today, Ahmad said the summit has truly served as a “masterclass on how to go about attracting global investors”.
“PM Modi, you defined the living bridge between the United Kingdom and India. I want to extend the greetings from my prime minister Rishi Sunak, the son-in-law of India. This summit has truly in every sense served as a masterclass on how to go about attracting global investors. Our nations may be separated by thousands of miles geographically, but that vast distance can diminish with the warmth between our people, that living bridge and there is so much in common between our two nations…” he said.
