The primary purpose of the Godda power plant, established by Adani Power, is to supply electricity to the Bangladesh Power Development Board through a dedicated transmission line. Last month, Adani Power announced that the plant had achieved full operational status, marking a significant milestone.
In a statement, Adani Power Jharkhand Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Power Limited, revealed that the commercial operations of the second unit of the 2 x 800 MW Godda Ultra Supercritical Thermal Power Plant (Godda USCTPP) commenced on June 26 in Godda district of Jharkhand. The completion of the reliability run rest and commercial operation tests of the second unit took place on June 25, in the presence of officials from BPDB and the Power Grid Corporation of Bangladesh.
The first unit of the power plant, boasting a capacity of 800 MW, achieved its Commercial Operation Date in April of the same year. Adani Power emphasized that the supply of power from the Godda USCTPP to Bangladesh’s grid would significantly contribute to enhancing energy security in the country.
